- Student support team meetings allow for confidential discussions regarding students and their learning and behaviour
- Reporting procedures are done in a considered way that are confidential of all student and family information
- Class hand overs at the end of each year to discuss the needs of students and the best way to support them into the future
- Yearly component reviews focus on supporting diversity in our community
- Orientation for new families supports them as they become members of our community
- Policies and structures (enrollment, support processes etc.) are reviewed to reflect the changing diversity in our community
Praying for Justice:
At Holy Spirit this is evidenced by:
- As a school we have adopted a whole school theme - Empowered by the Spirit and we engage with this in our justice and outreach during the year
- Each term we have a justice focus - Caritas, Orange Sky Laundry, SVDP and Catholic Missions
- Assemblies and liturgies for Caritas, SVDP, Orange Sky Laundry, Hummingbird House, Catholic Missions that highlight the way that they work for justice in our world
- SVDP Sleep Out and Helping Hand Bags are a practical way our students can be involved in justice and outreach in our community
- Displays and information in the newsletters highlight justice and outreach
- Visits of representatives from these agencies give a real life experience to students, staff and parents
- Parents and students are invited to tie ribbons on our trees of life for special times e.g. Harmony Day, Day for Daniel, Orange Sky Laundry, Hummingbird House
Building a Just Community:
At Holy Spirit this is evidenced by:
- Regular RAP meetings as part of our support for all students in their learning and behaviour
- School fee concessions given to those families in need
- Environmentally sustainable practices e.g. worm farm, vege garden
- The Buddy Program builds relationships across the school with students and families
- Pastoral Care Groups gather for particular celebrations throughout the year e.g. school feast day
- Witness to Mission and Spirit Awards are given to two Year Six students for the way they have engaged in the life of our community
- Staff engagement in decisions regarding resources for the school
- Engagement of the school and wider community through the P&F events calendar
